Brewing InstructionsBrewing TeaThe art of making tea is pretty easy - it is all in how you prepare it. The following guidelines are to help you get the best possible taste and enjoyment. First, start with fresh great tasting cold water. We would recommend always using filtered or bottled water if your tap water is not good. In order to avoid any subtle flavors of the tea getting destroyed by impurities in the tap water. Bring the water to a rolling boil. Do not let your water boil for an extended period of time because this draws out of oxygen, which is necessary for the flavor extraction. Depending on how strong you prefer your perfect cup of tea use approximately 4 grams or 2 teaspoons of tea per 10 oz. of water. For further details please refer to the table with the general guidelines at the bottom of the page. Just feel free to experiment! About Water Temperature: Using the correct water temperature is of equal importance. Please note that only black teas, fruit blends, rooibos and herbal infusions are brewed with boiling water. It is of vital importance to remember not to use boiling water for oolong, green and white teas. After bringing the water to a rolling boil you have to let it cool down to the desired temperature. Please use the general guidelines below. About Steeping Time: To avoid a bitter and unpleasant taste, never allow your tea to steep beyond the time as recommended in the below mentioned table or in the steeping instruction on the package. For a stronger cup of tea, add more tea rather than increasing the steeping time.
Loose leaf in a teapot: To produce superior tea, we recommend putting loose leaves in a teapot. This is one of the most commonly used methods when it comes to producing superior tea as the leaves can fully unfurl and the true tea flavor is brought to perfection. Make sure to keep the general guidelines in mind as far as the infusion time is concerned in order to avoid even the very best teas getting a bitter and unpleasant taste. Tea balls: Tea balls are ideal when brewing a single cup of tea or a small tea pot. Tea balls are usually available in different sizes and are very easy to use: Just fill in the recommended amount of tea and place it into your cup for steeping. Tea balls that are equipped with handles (mesh infusers) are a popular addition and make the handling and cleaning even easier. Please note that the space for the leaves to unfurl is not optimal and unsuitable for high quality leaf teas. Basket filters: When using basket filters for infusing whole leaf tea, the great advantage is that the leaves may circulate freely and thus unfold the flavor to get the perfect cup of tea. The usage is pretty simple: Just place it in the teapot, add the leaves, pour hot water and lift it out as soon as the tea has reached its desired strength. It is very convenient and easy-to-use. Tea socks and Paper filters: An alternative to the basket filter, you can use tea socks or paper filters. The use is quite easy as the basket filters. A big advantage of the paper filters is that you do not have to clean it. It is disposable after each use. Paper filters are biodegradable. Paper filters are very convenient for those who like to drink different types of tea or different flavored teas. With every brewing you use a new paper filter so there is no contamination of the flavor which was used before. Tea press: A fashionable and convenient way to brew loose leaf tea which allows you to stop the brewing process according to your taste, by simply pressing down press. Brewing machines: Another way to let you extract the fullest tea flavor is the use of a brewing machine. Simply add loose tea to the infuser basket, fill the steeping chamber with water and set the controls to suit your taste. No matter which method you prefer to make your perfectly brewed cup of tea, sit back, relax and enjoy. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
