History
FLORAPHARM is characterized by the early identification of change in the market and creating new trends.
From inception, FLORAPHARM has been characterized by the early identification of changes in the market, creating new tea trends,
and staying one step ahead. The story begins in 1993 when a trained apothecary (pharmacist) decided to blend and sell eight teas.
The location, Zapfendorf. A small town outside the idyllic city of Bamberg in upper Franconia a beautiful region in the north of Bavaria.
Since then, we have grown to offer about 1,300 teas. The love for the product, the consistent high quality, the extraordinary engagement
of our team and the enormous innovation strength for the development of new tea trends have carried our success and remained constant.
In short: our passion for tea has remained the same.

1993
FOUNDATION OF FLORAPHARM IN ZAPFENDORF
25 years ago, the pharmacist Georg Kroll founded the FLORAPHARM company. In the initial years, the company concentrates on the development of pharmaceutical based teas, which is facilitated thanks to a manufacturer´s permit for medicinal teas.

2000
RELOCATION TO SCHESSLITZ
The sustainable growth of FLORAPHARM leads to a relocation of the company to Schesslitz. There, FLORAPHARM® builds an ultra-modern tea manufactory strictly seperating flavored, herbal teas and classic teas.

2005
FLORAPHARM® IN THE USA
The company´s major success at the North American Tea Trade Fair in Las Vegas leads to the foundation of FLORAPHARM® TEA-USA in Maryland. FLORAPHARM® teas have won more than 23 Tea Champion, 23 Silver and 12 Bronze awards at the World Tea Expo.

2010
QUALITY CONTROL THROUGH

Tea connoisseurs want perfect products. High quality is therefore one of the most important factors for FLORAPHARM®´s success. Our quality is assured through a multitude o procedures carried out by LEON. This has been essential in FLORAPHARM®´s growth.

2011
DOUBLING OF THE CAPACITY
AT THE SCHESSLITZ LOCATION
To be able to supply the growing number of customers and to expand our assortment diversity, FLORAPHARM® constructed new buildings for production and storage. This includes the purchase of a CO2 system, so our tea can be purified from left over residues. Finally new and modern procedures for the refinement of tea is put into place.

2011
PRODUCTION OF THE
FIRST PYRAMID TEABAGS
Florapharm knows how tea brews best. Tea leaves and components need room to expand, to unfold, and let the flavor be extracted from the delicate leaves. If it’s not loose leaf, then the next best and most convenient method is the pyramid tea bag. The tetrahedron shape acts as a single serving tea vessel and allows the tea space to unfurl and expand. We have the expertise and perfected the manufacturing and packaging of pyramid bags so the tea inside stays fresh and delightful.

2012
RELOCATION FLORAPHARM®
TEA-USA TO HINESVILLE, GEORGIA
As was the case in Germany, the first location in the USA quickly became too small. The popularity of our teas on the US and Canadian markets necessitates a relocation to a larger space. Storage and administration have been located in Hinesville, Georgia since 2012.

FOUNDATION OF FLORAGOLD®
OWN BRAND IN THE EU
The top FLORAPHARM® quality is united with high functionality into one product through the FLORAGOLD® brand. FLORAGOLD® is characterised through diverse varieties, and large tea leaves or fruit pieces which are packaged into practical pyramid teabags. This makes FLORAGOLD® an exquisitely enjoyable tea brand of exceptional quality normally only available as loose tea.

2018
25th Anniversary of
FLORAPHARM
After 25 years of company history, FLORAPHARM is today the proud owner of 1300 different tea creations and has been selected as award winners of the Tea Championship more than 58 times. With its top-class teas, FLORAPHARM has remained a market leader and trendsetter in the specialist tea trade. We are constantly investing in the future of FLORAPHARM. This year, amongst other things, a new system for cleaning and sterilisation of the raw materials was put into operation.
2020
New challenges
The global spread of coronavirus presented us with new challenges.
However, in spite of the circumstances, we are staying positive. In compliance with very strict hygiene measures and quality controls, we continue to develop top-class new products, and are investing in new technology to improve our packaging processes. We continue supporting our valuied customers, large and small, and to impress with our creativity and quality.
